Khamis Bin Jarsh appointed new Managing Director of Jadaf Dubai
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, July 08 - 2007 at 13:18
- PRESS RELEASE
Jadaf Dubai announced on Wednesday (July 4) that Khamis Abdulla Bin Jarsh has taken charge as the new Managing Director following the appointment of his predecessor, Hamed Mohammed Matar Bin Lahej, as chief operation Officer , Drydocks World, the holding company for Jadaf Dubai.
Jadaf Dubai is currently in the process of relocating its entire operation from upstream Dubai Creek to Dubai Maritime City, which is being positioned as a world-class hub for the maritime sector.
Commenting on the challenge ahead, Mr. Bin Jarsh said: "Jadaf Dubai has been going through a transitional period since it was brought under the umbrella of the Drydocks World in May and the shifting of all our operations from the old facility to Dubai Maritime City. The new expanded ship repair yard will increase our handling capacity from 2,500 tons to 6,000 tons. It is being equipped with some of the most advanced ship-lifting technology and maintenance facilities."
Bin Jarsh joined Jadaf Dubai in 1995 as the deputy head of the accounts department and went on to occupy several key management posts, including that of Assistant General Manager.
The new Managing Director said despite the 12 years he has spent with the ship repair yard, his new assignment was both exciting and challenging: "As part of Drydocks World, we have set many important targets for the next stage of our development, especially now that Jadaf Dubai has decided to go global, after being a local and then regional operator. On the human assets front, the Emiratization process will progress in full gear in view of the rising demand for qualified personnel, especially at management levels."
