The scholarships will benefit ten students every year, enabling them to enroll for the Higher Diploma or Bachelor of Science programs at HCT in disciplines as varied as engineering, business administration, information technology and applied media. The first batch of selected students collected their scholarship documents in an impressive ceremony held to mark the occasion.

Commenting on the initiative, Saeed Al Qatami, Deyaar's Managing Director - UAE Business - said, "At Deyaar, we recognize the importance of developing and grooming UAE National talent, not just for our company, but for the good of the society as a whole. We believe we can play a significant role in supporting the academic pursuits of UAE Nationals to help them attain the career goals that they set for themselves, as they prepare to lead the country to greater heights in the years to come."

The choice of candidates was based on their outstanding academic performance. Deyaar's scholarships do not come with any pre-conditions such as requiring the students to work for Deyaar after their studies. However, Deyaar will take a proactive interest in the scholarship awardees by offering them opportunities to gain first hand experience in the business world through internships and summer training programs within the company.

Expressing HCT's delight on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Dr. Tayeb Kamali, HCT, said: "The move to award scholarships was a noble gesture from Deyaar, which would go a long way in encouraging national youth to pursue their education in the right earnest. We hope Deyaar's initiative will inspire similar contributions from businesses nationwide."

Al Qatami reiterated: "Deyaar is proud to be associated with HCT, one of the premier government colleges of UAE. HCT graduates have had an excellent track record in all industries that they have worked in, and are much sought after by the leading UAE corporations for their caliber and aptitude."
