40 journos kidnapped in 2007

BBC Gaza correspondent Alan Johnston is one of 40 journalists to be kidnapped around the world in 2007, according to figures by the International Federation of Journalists, cited by the Guardian. Thirteen of those kidnapped have been killed and 17 are still being held. Nearly half of the kidnapped journalists were Iraqis working inside Iraq, the report said.
