Renaissance Dubai Hotel announces promotions and new appointment

The Renaissance Dubai Hotel has announced several promotions and new appointment.
•Hassan Yazbek was promoted to Director Food & Beverage, effective July 1st, 2007. Hassan who was recently named Event Management Leader of the Year for both the International and the UKIMEA region by Marriott International joined the Renaissance as Director of Event Management on February 16th, 2005. During this time he has done a tremendous job in ensuring budget expectations were met and service standards in Catering and Events excelled. Under his leadership, the events team also won Event Management team of the year for the whole of the UKIMEA region. In his new position Hassan will be directly reporting to the General Manager, Francisco Giles.
•Abraham Thomas was promoted to Purchasing Manager effective July 1st, 2007. Abraham joined the Renaissance in 1992 as Receiving Clerk and has steadily risen through the ranks with his most recent posting being as Assistant Purchasing Manager. The management wishes him all the best.
•The Renaissance Dubai hotel is pleased to announce the promotion of Simone Krill to Event Manager effective July 1st, 2007. Simone joined the hotel as Group Coordinator on November 8th, 2004 and was promoted to Assistant Event Manager on June 1st, 2006. Now as Event Manager, she will be in-charge of the day to day running of the Event Management Office and reporting directly to Hassan Yazbek, the Director of Food & Beverage and Vladimir Dabbah, Director of Sales & Marketing.

•The management of the Renaissance Dubai Hotel is pleased to welcome on board Amgad Zaki as Executive Sous Chef. Amgad who joins us from the JW Marriott, Dubai has a string of achievements and awards to his credit some of which include being named Star Chef of the JW Marriott hotel, Dubai in 2004 and winning the Gold Medal at the Salon Culinaire competition for the 5 course gourmet dinner menu in 2005. In addition Amgad also worked closely with Ingo Maas, executive chef at the JW Marriott to conceptualise and release their New Arabian Cuisine cookbook and also assisted in creating a menu which incorporated dishes from the same for Lufthansa Airlines.
In his present position, Amgad is responsible for supporting the Executive Chef, Andreas Kurfürst in overseeing the day-to-day culinary operations in the hotel as well as to supervise the training and development of the kitchen staff to ensure the highest quality of food and service.
