  • PRESS RELEASE

Etisalat partners with 444 telecommunications operators in more than 180 countries across the globe, enabling its customers to use their mobiles wherever they travel to this summer.

During the summertime many of the UAE's residents will travel abroad, making international roaming one of the most important factors for customers when choosing a service provider. Etisalat is proud to be the largest mobile operator in the Middle East that provides the most extensive international roaming and advanced services for travellers.

Ahmed Bin Ali, Vice President of Corporate Communications commented; "The UAE has a hugely diverse population from across the globe, it is our job to provide telecommunications services that meet their needs. Many people will travel abroad this summer to see friends and family. Our international roaming network enables customers to stay connected where ever they are. We are very proud to offer a world class international roaming network and a broad range of services designed especially for travellers".

Etisalat has gone much further than just providing international roaming, it has developed a variety of services to take the hassle out of communications when travelling:

GSM Postpaid and Wasel Prepaid Roaming

GSM post paid customers can make and receive calls and SMS while travelling overseas. Wasel prepaid customers can receive calls and SMS while overseas, and can make calls and send SMS in many countries that support direct roaming, including India, Pakistan, France, UK, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Oman.

The call back roaming service may allow Wasel users to stay connected in countries where direct roaming is not supported by dialing *111*phone number#call.

3G, GPRS and MMS Roaming

Etisalat is the first operator in the region to launch the 3G and 3.5G service. In countries where 3G roaming is supported customers can make video calls and enjoy high speed internet connections on the move along with all the other 3G services.

GPRS roaming allows customers to access the internet and send and receive multimedia messages where networks support this technology.

Etisalat's 3G MobileCAM provides anytime, anywhere access to live video footage from the cameras location, wherever 3G roaming is supported.

With Etisalat Online Services, customers can view and pay their bills of GSM account, fixed line, internet dial-up connection, Al-Shamil broadband connection, Business One, e-vision any time and anywhere by simply log on to our website www.etisalat.ae/online.
