ME 50% mobile penetration

The Middle East will reach 50% mobile penetration in Q207, with 150m mobile connections, according to Wireless Intelligence. Saudi Arabia has the largest market but only 84% penetration, compared to over 100% in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE. The Middle East market grew 30% in 2006 and is expected to grow a further 25% in 2007.
