Singapore is getting set to attract affluent tourists from the Middle East during the 'A Luxe Affair' extravaganza, a prestigious festival that offers a range of luxurious experiences including jewellery and timepiece showcases, performances and art events.
Catering to the lifestyles of the rich and famous, this unique line-up of premium lifestyle events during September and October will include highlights such as TEMPUS - The Temple of Time for those who appreciate haute horology, ART Singapore for fine art aficionados, the Singapore JewelFest which celebrates the prestige and glamour of fine jewellery and for the first time in Asia, Singapore Sun Festival.
Kicking off the season on 5 September is 'TEMPUS - The Temple of Time', featuring one of the largest private collections of rare exhibits and novelties from Swiss watch fairs.
Reinforcing Singapore's reputation as the Asian Capital of Horology, the event, which is expected to draw a record fifty-four brands, will see, among other events, the world's largest watch auctioneer, Antiquorum, auctioning 35 one-of-a-kind masterpieces commissioned by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.
There will also be watch-making courses, live demonstrations by specialist artisans and master watchmakers, on-site appraisals and informal discussion forums with industry experts.
Renowned art aficionados and collectors will be treated to the Lion City's largest visual arts event, the annual ARTSingapore, taking place from 5 to 8 October. With 84 galleries from 16 countries and 2 auction companies participating this year, visitors can expect to see hundreds of artworks by highly acclaimed artists and emerging new artists from Asia and beyond.
In its fifth year, Singapore JewelFest 2007 will offer jewellery lovers heritage pieces, rare stones and limited edition designs. During the 10-day event from 12 October, the exhibition along Singapore's premier shopping district will celebrate some of the world's most beautiful cuts and designs.
Rounding off the season at the end of October is the Singapore Sun Festival - the first ever Sun Festival in Asia. This premium lifestyle festival will bring internationally renowned artists and celebrities to Singapore to celebrate the 'art of living well' across a range of disciplines: music, film, literature, visual arts, cuisine, and wellness, and will hold special appeal to visitors who appreciate the finer things in life.
