Iraq annihilate Aussies

Iraqi national pride received a boost after its football team thrashed Asian Cup favourites Australia 3-1 in an overnight group tie. Iraq now share the lead in Group A with Thailand after dominating the star-studded Aussies who have so far failed to make any impact on the tournament in their inaugural appearance. The UAE crashed out of the competition after a 3-1 loss to reigning champions Japan.
