Sharjah Municipality launches food trade manual

Taking into consideration the health of the city and the importance of food in the lives of individuals, Sharjah Municipality issued a new Food Trade Manual, which will be available for review at the Public Health Department of the Municipality.

This directory will serve as a useful document for all investors and businessmen prior to conducting food trade activities in the region. The comprehensive manual includes rules and regulations for food storage warehouses, food transport, distribution, importing and exporting procedures, food products approval as well as large, medium or small capital investments. The manual saves time and clarifies all details that will aid an investor in proceeding with his operations.

Mr. Farouq Mahmoud Al Kamali, Head of Import and Export Food Control Department assured that,

"This directory will be of great benefit and will aid in organizing export and trading of food products. It makes the process of local and international distribution much easier, while effectively tackling the issue of health and quality control. We expect that the directory will help improve the overall food industry in the UAE."

Some of the most important benefits of the directory include: implementing food trading projects faster, answer all investors' enquiries on the food trading business, reduce the pressure in the municipality sections and promoting food trade investments in Sharjah.
