Hilton Hotels Corporation announces three new Middle East and Africa appointments

Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC) has announced three new high-profile appointments in the region.

Derrek Anderson joins in the new role of Vice President, Finance for the Middle East and Africa; Mike Nalborczyk as the new General Manager for Hilton Dubai Creek, and Victor Louis as General Manager of Hilton Fujairah Resort.

Jean-Paul Herzog, Hilton Hotels' President, Middle East and Africa, commented on the company's drive to promote talent: "Hilton is strongly focused on internal training and promotion. We provide numerous opportunities for our team members to challenge themselves and assume new roles, which is why we have such strong staff retention.

"The Middle East is a key development market for Hilton, and we recently became a new area of operations headquartered in Dubai to best serve this growing market. These new appointments reflect the energy and drive that epitomises the Hilton service ethos."


Anderson is a Chartered Accountant from New Zealand who originally joined Hilton in 1999. He has had responsibility for regional portfolios as Financial Controller for UK and Ireland, Area Financial Controller for Middle East and Asia Pacific, and Regional Finance Director for South Asia, Japan and Micronesia. He takes on the new Vice President role based in the area's headquarters at Dubai Internet City, and reports to Herzog.

British-born Nalborczyk is the new General Manager for Hilton Dubai Creek, Hilton's first boutique property in the region. He was previously based in Australia, where he managed the Hilton Sydney, seeing the flagship property through a major rebuild and re-opening, successfully establishing its reputation as the top conference and event hotel in Australia. He also helmed the award-winning Hilton Melbourne Airport and Hilton Sheffield in the United Kingdom.

Louis takes on the management of the Hilton Fujairah Resort as his first General Manager's position, having been promoted from Director of Business Development for the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort and Hilton Dubai Creek cluster. Louis, an Egyptian national has carved a career with Hilton since 1996. Prior to his Dubai position, he was Director of Business Development for the Jeddah Hilton, the city's market leading hotel.
