- PRESS RELEASE
Drake & Scull International (DSI), the region's leading mechanical and electrical engineering contracting company has announced that it has recently been awarded a KD 4.5 million (AED 57.37 million) contract by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior to install a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Cooling (HVAC) system for the Special Forces Facility that is currently under construction in Sulaibhia, Kuwait.
"This is a very prestigious and strategically important contract for us, as we are focused on strengthening our presence in the Gulf region, especially in high growth areas such as Kuwait. We have worked hard at building up a solid reputation in the market, and we are pleased that we have been recognised by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior for the exceptionally high quality work that we can deliver," said Khaldoun Al Tabari, Executive Director, DSI.
"As it is essential for a project of this magnitude to have precise control over the air quality, we will provide the most technologically advanced HVAC system available, that is also energy efficient and maintains premium indoor air quality through adequate ventilation and thermal comfort," Al Tabari added.
The Special Forces Facility contract is the latest in a string of Kuwaiti deals for DSI, bringing the total value of Kuwait contracts awarded to the company in excess of KD15.75 million (AED 200.8 million) during the last twelve months alone.
At the same time, the company has also focused on strengthening its burgeoning project portfolio at other Middle Eastern locations, including the Jumeirah Beach Hotel and residences, Dubai Internet City, Dubai Festival City, Fairmont Palm Residences, Dubai Airport Free Zone, GASCO, ADCO, Egypt's Smart Village, Qatar's Four Seasons Hotel, among others.
Drake & Scull International has been providing world-class engineering services to projects in the power, oil and gas, petrochemicals, industrial, utilities, communications and infrastructure sectors in the Middle East since its inception in 1964. Headquartered in the UAE, DSI's extensive regional operations extend to Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Egypt and Sudan.
The main contractor for the Special Forces Facility in Kuwait is Al Alamiah Building Construction Co. Kuwait; and the construction management is being administered by the Ministry of Public Works in the State of Kuwait.
