Durrat Al Bahrain signs agreement with Beacon Education

Durrat Al Bahrain has signed a memorandum of understanding with Beacon Education, one of the most well-established modern schools in the UK, with the aim of establishing an educational complex for a private international school that awards the International Baccalaureate and the General Certificate of Secondary Education.

A signing ceremony was held at the head office of Durrat Al Bahrain in the presence of Mr. Jassim Ahmed Al Jowder, Durrat Al Bahrain Chief Executive Officer, Mr. John Stow, School's Development Manager and Mr. Mahmood Abdul Rahman, Technical Operations General Manager.

It is envisaged that the School will offer all the educational levels from the nursery level to the secondary school level.

Beacon Education is considered as one of the leading schools in modern education and it offers both British and American curricula and has branches throughout the world. The proposed school is expected to open for classes in the academic year 2009-2010.

Mr. Al Jowder said he was pleased with the signing of this memorandum with the Company since it was significant in laying down the basic foundations of the educational aspect at Durrat Al Bahrain. He also revealed that there were several educational services that were being arranged and finalized with different academic organizations, which would give Durrat Al Bahrain residents peace of mind with the availability of educational facilities for their children near their residential villas.

Meanwhile, Mr. Stow expressed his thanks and appreciation to Durrat Al Bahrain management for their choice of Beacon Education to be the first approved school at Durrat Al Bahrain project. He also pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain represented a vital destination for private schools in the region.

It is noted that the signing of this agreement coincides with Durrat Al Bahrain's plan to shortly open the door for investment in the Crescent Island, which will be the business and centre and service am of the Durrat Al Bahrain project. It will comprise numerous business towers, shopping malls in addition to a variety of educational, health and other services.

Durrat Khaleej Al Bahrain Company, which is equally owned by the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain), develops the Durrat Al Bahrain Project. The Project is developed on 21 square kilometres and includes beaches and seafronts. Upon completion, the Project will be equivalent to the area of Manama, capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
