During their 4-day stay in Dubai, some 30 sub-contractors who will be engaged in Sungwon's property and infrastructure development projects in the UAE, visited the site of Sungwon's flagship property project, SANTEVILL at Business Bay and the upcoming twin tower project in Culture Village, as well as key construction hotspots of Dubai where Sungwon is preparing to participate as a main contractor in the near future.

During the recent visit to Korea by His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sungwon signed a construction MOU with the newly formed Deira Investment to embark on the construction of the new tourist, commercial, retail, logistics and residential projects in Deira, the traditional hub for trade in Dubai, among others.

Sungwon's Korean sub contractors are all leaders in their respective fields in the Korean construction industry, ranging from civil works, structural, MEP to sewage and waste treatment.

Representatives of the companies also participated at an on-site workshop organised by Sungwon in Dubai to get acquainted with the various aspects of the projects that are being built by Sungwon in the UAE. The workshop included a detailed investigation of the proposed construction sites, discussion of technical specifications and requirements, human resources management, equipment and mobilization, innovation in construction, and logistics.

Commenting on their visit to Dubai, Mr. Chang-Pyo Park, CEO of Sungwon's Middle East Headquarters and General Manager of the Dubai Branch, said: "Sungwon is pleased to host this visit by top professionals who represent the cream of Korea's specialist contractors in the construction sector. Our key aim is to ensure that the Korean contractors, who will be working closely with us in the UAE, understand the country, its conditions and the different demands of each project so that they are able to help us deliver the best construction services in a cost-effective manner in line with our motto Quality on Time. Their visit is timely, especially as Sungwon will be playing an important role in various huge projects in Dubai".

Mr. Richard Lee, the Dubai-based Vice President of Sungwon, said: "Sungwon has recognised the need to introduce initiatives that would tremendously motivate its partners and clients, and in turn make a positive difference to the performance of the company in the UAE and region. We believe that all our projects will contribute towards enhancing the attraction of Dubai both for visitors and investors from around the world, further enhancing Dubai's position as the regional hub for investment and trade. By providing this opportunity for our Korean sub-contractors to get to know the place and projects in which they will be working in advance, Sungwon is making sure that no stones are left unturned in the pursuit for quality on time".

In addition to the 25-storey luxurious tower, SANTEVILL, that is being built by Sungwon at Business Bay, Sungwon will also develop a unique world-class lifestyle mixed commercial twin tower property project at Culture Village. These two projects, worth over US$ 450 million, are Sungwon's first major investments in the Middle East.

In addition to its property projects at Business Bay and Culture Village that are being developed under an arrangement with Dubai Properties, Sungwon has also been appointed by one of Dubai's most exclusive developers, Al Fattan Properties, to market and sell the luxury projects of Al Fattan Properties to prominent investors and figures in South Korea, starting with The Palm Jumeirah Al Fattan Resort and the Al Fattan Currency House in DIFC. Sungwon is also carrying out civil works projects in Bahrain and Qatar, including road, highway and sewerage pipelines.
