The 2007 International Business Awards (IBAs) are the only global, all-encompassing awards program honoring great performances in business.

The Cognos product development team is being recognized for its R&D initiatives in the past year, particularly for the innovative development of the Cognos 8 Go! consumer modes.
Extensions to the Cognos 8 Business Intelligence platform, the consumer modes, including Cognos 8 Go! Mobile, Cognos 8 Go! Search and Cognos 8 Go! Office, help improve decision-making and increase business intelligence user adoption rates within an organization by letting users view and consume reports, analyses, and other BI content using familiar applications or devices, such as the BlackBerry® wireless platform from Research in Motion, search engines, MS Office applications, or Web browsers.

"We have always fostered a culture of innovation here at Cognos," said Derek Morrison, Regional General Manager, Cognos.

"The Cognos product development team has seen continued success this past year in delivering first-to-market solutions purpose-built for industry-leading partners such as Google, RIM and IBM. This award is a validation of the innovative spirit and drive required to fuel these efforts."

Recipients of International Stevie Award trophies were selected from more than 1,000 nominations received from companies and individuals in more than 30 countries. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges and Advisors and their staffs selected International Stevie winners from among the Finalists, which were determined by volunteer judges around the world during two months of preliminary judging.

"Entries to the IBAs grew 40% this year and that illustrates the increasing importance of The International Business Awards worldwide," said Michael Gallagher, president of The Stevie Awards, which presents the IBAs. "We congratulate Cognos and all of the International Stevie Award winners and finalists, and we look forward to honoring them for their achievements at our awards dinner."
