Qatar $25bn Sainsbury bid

Delta Two, an investment fund backed by the Qatar Investment Authority, has made a preliminary takeover approach to UK supermarket group J Sainsbury, according to reports. Delta Two already controls 25% of the group. The offer is thought to be worth 610p a share, valuing Sainsbury's at around $24.5bn, according to Bloomberg. Sainsbury said in a statement it would release more details later.
