An American company, which opened an office in the Hamriya free zone in March 2001 says the event presents an ideal opportunity for it to introduce its new product to Dubai and GCC markets.

"This exhibition draws strong participation from the trade and it has always been a venue manufacturers and distributors use when they want to make an impression in the Middle East marketplace. The Polarised Lens Co., which is based in Delaware, USA knows that this exhibition can help it make significant headway with its new product in this region," says Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Corporate Manager, Exhibitions at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Polarised Lens Co. Inc. says it will launch polarised ophthalmic lenses at the exhibition. While it is currently investing significant time and effort meeting with trade professionals on a one-to-one basis to share information about their product, which is new to the region, Johnson A.R., Director, ISBC and Consultant to the Polarised Lens Co. in the UAE, says the exhibition will mark the launch of an extensive awareness campaign.

"The Polarised Lens Co. is one of five companies in the world that manufactures poralised lenses, which enable wearers to see through sun glare. While many other glasses have anti-reflective coatings, we use polarising technology in the manufacturing stage of our polarised CR 39 and Hi Index lenses, which sets our products apart from competitors, and results in a superior product that significantly enhances visual acuity," says Johnson, adding that the technology is available for both non-prescription and prescription lenses and that there are plans to build a manufacturing facility in the UAE in the future.

Polarised Lens Co. Inc. is one of numerous companies that have confirmed their participation for the upcoming exhibition. In 2000, more than 100 companies representing 23 countries participated in the biennial event, which attracted importers, distributors, ophthalmists, opticians and other industry professionals from throughout the region.
