Now on display at Alfardan Automobiles' BMW showroom in Doha, the X5 3.0si boasts the same high levels of comfort, elegance and safety offered by its bigger, more powerful cousin that has been so well received.
Powered by a 6 cylinder in-line 3.0 litre engine, the car generates an impressive 273 horsepower and 232 lb of torque, and is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/hr in 8.1 seconds. The high-tech engine is among the lightest in its class and tops out at an electronically limited 225 km/hr.
The BMW X5 3.0si combines advanced engineering with innovative technologies such as xDrive and Adaptive Drive to offer precision-steering and agility, uncommon in vehicles of its size. Elaborating on the amazing handling of the car, Mr. Naim Majdalani, Director of Sales and Marketing for BMW Group at Alfardan Automobiles, said, 'The X5 3.0si might classify as an SAV, but it has a low centre of gravity and handles like a sports saloon. The in-built technology maintains maximum traction and stability to ensure that the driver is in complete control of the vehicle at all times.
'The cabin of the car is everything you would expect from a BMW. Finished with leather upholstery and fine wood trim, the X5 3.0si is as luxurious on the inside as it is elegant on the outside. The instrument panel is intuitive and ergonomically designed, cleverly employing technology to assist the driver in its functions,' Mr. Majdalani said. 'The new BMW X5 uses the iDrive concept to give the driver one-touch control over navigation, air-conditioning, entertainment and communication functions through a central control panel. The driver can personalise the control panel to access favourite radio stations and phone numbers at the touch of a button,' he added.
As always, BMW has placed paramount importance on safety in the construction of the X5 3.0si. 'The passenger cell is exceptionally strong, constructed using high-strength multi-phased steel. Passengers are protected by a coordinated restraint system of three-point seatbelts and ten airbags. Other safety features include reinforced doors and designated crumple zones that have been developed through extensive crash-testing at BMW,' Mr. Majdalani said.
The BMW X5 3.0si is now available at the BMW showroom in Doha, and comes with a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty and a 3-year/ 60,000 km BSI (BMW Service Inclusive) maintenance package. The BSI package may optionally be extended to 5 years, 100,000 km.
