GAIF indurance conference announces essay competition

The 27th General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) Conference, which is taking place in the Kingdom of Bahrain on 26-28 February 2008, under the patronage of H.H. the Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, is holding a region-wide competition in the spirit of re-molding the bi-annual event and making it more interactive for participants.
"Applicability of the European Union (EU) insurance regulations to the Arab markets and the modifications needed for adapting them"
or
"Main factors likely to influence the Arab insurance markets in the coming years".
Closing date for entries is 30 November, 2007 and exact rules will shortly be released in the Conference website.
The winning essay will receive US $ 10,000, complementary registration and all expenses inclusive trip to Bahrain during the Conference. Moreover, the winner will have the honor to address the GAIF audience with a brief presentation on the winning topic. A runner-up prize of US $ 5,000 will also be provided.
The bi-annual GAIF Conference is expected to draw over 1,000 of the Pan-Arab region's insurance elite; providing a platform for bilateral discussions among the large number of participants.
