$60-65 a barrel good for Opec

  • Saudi Arabia: Monday, July 23 - 2007 at 09:42

Hasan Qabazard, the Head of Opec's Research Division, has said a fair price for a barrel of oil would be around $60-65 according to Reuters citing a Kuwaiti state oil newsletter. Qabazard said such a price would boost investment in the industry as it prepares to handle increased demand in future years. He added that political tensions between the West and Iran, as well as abductions in Nigeria, are stoking prices.
