  • PRESS RELEASE

Etisalat has brought its customers more options to personalize their mobile phones with new and trendy Greetunes by being the first operator in the region to provide Sony BMG tones to its customers.

You can assign a love song by Celine Dion for your loved one to enjoy or a Shakira song for the youth to listen to, ensuring that your callers are entertained while they wait for you to answer.

Sony BMG's catalogue will offer tunes from genres such as Rock, Pop, R&B, Rap, Country, Jazz and Classical. Some musicians from these genres include Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez, Pink, Westlife, John Mayer, George Michael, John Legend, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Alicia Keys and others.

Customers can subscribe to Greetune service via SMS by sending 'r greetune' as SMS to 1010 or by simply dialing 125 (for both GSM & Wasel customers). An SMS will then be sent confirming subscription and a PIN number with instructions to logon to www.greetune.weyak.ae. The customer can then enter the user ID- their mobile number- and PIN number to preview/listen, buy and assign tones to callers. Customers can also call the IVR number 144 if they wish to change their Greetune album.

There are no subscription charges for this service, and there is a monthly fee. Customers can store up to 20 different Greetune tones in their personal ring tone collection and can also change them at anytime.

Khalifa Al Shamsi, Vice President Marketing- Consumer and SMB, Etisalat, said: "The Greetune service from Etisalat has witnessed great success since its launch, and has also recently been expanded with a large selection of tunes from the Sony BMG Music catalogue. Etisalat remains committed to enhancing its products and services and to provide its customers in the UAE with the best technology from around the world."

The Greetune service allows subscribers to express their individuality by selecting and personalizing the tones that their callers hear. New Greetune tones mean that subscribers can assign the latest Justin Timberlake song to their friends to enjoy or a Whitney Houston song for their business partners and clients to relax to when calling.

The Greetune service, launched in July 2006, allows subscribers to customize their Greetune tones according to their own personality with the new and trendy tones. The Greetune service already offers a wide range of tones and audio clips, including Islamic content, popular music, poetry, and funny tones in Arabic, English, Hindi & other languages.

Etisalat has recently introduced new features of its Greetune service, enabling mobile customers to further personalize their tones. The enhanced Greetune service offers features such as gifting tones to friends and loved ones, shuffling tones by changing their sequence so callers can hear a different tune each time they call, copying tunes from any callers album, scheduling a tune to be played at different times of the day for different callers, assigning individual tunes to a specified group of callers such as family, friends and colleagues and finally setting tunes to be played on special dates.

This service is an effective way of expressing your emotions, personality, creativity or Individuality. Different tones can be assigned to special callers, special tones can be selected for special days and personal collection of ring tones can be stored.
