Located within Dubai Industrial City, DRP will be the first fully integrated waste management and recycling park in the Middle East.
'This follows Dubai Industrial City's recent approval of the feasibility study for Dubai Recycling Park,' said Abdullah Hayat, Deputy General Manager, National Projects Holding Co.
'The master plan was conducted by Remondis and now Campbell Reith Hill International will manage the design contract for DRP and be responsible for the architectural identity of the project.'
Campbell Reith Hill International is a London-based consulting engineer firm, specialising in structural, civil, transportation, geotechnical and environmental engineering. They will be responsible for all engineering studies regarding the Dubai Recycling Park project, in addition to utilities, traffic and environmental impact studies.
'We will have an integrated approach to the environmental, design and engineering aspects of this development,' Marwan Gerges, General Manager, Dubai Interests.
'We believe this visionary project encapsulates the way forward for the Middle East, and consider Dubai Recycling Park our most important project from a socially responsible stand point. We expect it to have a tangible impact on lowering Co2 emissions from the region.'
Dubai Recycling Park will be developed on a site measuring 1,500,000 square feet with a 49 year lease agreement with Dubai Industrial City. Construction is planned to commence in the first quarter 2008 and will be fully completed within the following 18 months.

National Projects Holding Co., through its Dubai Interests subsidiary, has appointed Campbell Reith Hill International with the design contract for Dubai Recycling Park (DRP).

About Dubai Recycling Park
National Projects Holding Co., a subsidiary of the National Real Estate Co. of Kuwait signed an agreement in October 2006 with Dubai Industrial City, a subsidiary of Tatweer (a Member of Dubai Holding), to establish Dubai Recycling Park, the first fully integrated waste management and recycling park in the Middle East.
Dubai Recycling Park will be developed on a site measuring 1,500,000 square feet with a 49 year lease agreement with Dubai Industrial City and a capital investment of up to USD150 million. Construction is planned to commence in the first quarter of 2008 and will be fully completed within 18 months.
The feasibility study, master plan and management of Dubai Recycling Park will be contracted to Remondis of Germany, the fourth largest waste management company in the world and arguably the world's leading company in waste management technology and know-how.
National Projects Holding Co. believes Dubai Recycling Park will be perhaps their most important project from a socially responsible stand point and that it should be replicated across the region.
