ITEP ties up with Princess Haya Bint Al-Hussein Islamic Cultural Center in Al Mizher

ITEP, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum IT Education Project, one of Knowledge and Human Development Authority's project, has signed a partnership agreement with the Princess Haya Bint Al-Hussein Islamic Cultural Center in Al Mizher to provide IT training opportunities for the center's staff and members.

The one year renewable agreement states that ITEP will offer IT training courses to housewives, girls, children, and others to obtain their internationally recognized ICDL.

The program will offer two training courses; the first course will last for 6 weeks to cover the full 7 modules, whereas the second course will last for 5 weeks to cover 4 modules of the "start program."

In her comments on the agreement, Mona Belhasa, director of the Princess Haya Bint Al-Hussein Islamic Cultural Center said: "We have selected ITEP for the good reputation it enjoys in this field. This agreement comes as a part of our effort to provide new opportunities and to promote the IT knowledge among all members of the society."

ITEP has celebrated its 8th year with major achievements and recognized awards, such as the "society IT awareness 2006" award received from ECDL organization, for its achievements in promoting IT knowledge through training over 100,000 individuals from different social backgrounds.

Amal Belhasa, executive director of ITEP, said: "This partnership comes as part of our mission to promote IT knowledge to all classes of society. We look forward to targeting all segments of the society in our aim to create a knowledge based society. Therefore, we are currently studying other IT training programs that will come to action very soon."
It is worth mentioning that the Princess Haya Bint Al-Hussein Islamic Cultural Center in Al Mizher, a non-profit social organization, works under the supervision of the Department of Islamic Affaires and Charitable Activities in Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum as part of his inspirational educational strategy to create the UAE Knowledge Economy. At its initial inception in 2000, ITEP began teaching IT in schools; ITEP now provides courses in 40 high schools in the UAE (20 in Dubai, 20 in Abu Dhabi) and over 13,000 students pass through the programme every year.
Following the success of the schools project, ITEP extended its operations to support the UAE government's e-government initiative by providing IT training programs to government departments.
