Klaus named Assistant Managing Editor, Zawya Dow Jones

Dow Jones & Company, Inc. has appointed Oliver Klaus to the newly created position of Assistant Managing Editor for Zawya Dow Jones.
Oliver is a veteran of the Middle East, having originally started his career with the esteemed Middle East Economic Digest where his reporting on Saudi Arabia's oil and gas industry helped the publication win one of the UK's coveted Periodical Publishers Association (PPA) awards in 2003. Oliver boasts a degree in Arabic and Economics from the London School of Oriental & African Studies.
In his new role Oliver will be helping to manage a growing team of almost 20 reporters and correspondents based across the region in addition to his existing job reporting on everything from OPEC policy to refinery outages and Dubai Commodities Exchange metals prices.
In June 2006, Newswires in partnership with ABQ Zawya Ltd., a local business and financial information company, launched the Zawya Dow Jones News Service with eight permanent staff and a number of stringers throughout the region to provide broad coverage of business and financial news in the Gulf.
