Called AdSense™ for Content, the programme enables online content owners to generate money when their users click on the ads served against their pages.

Website publishers of all sizes, big or small, can use AdSense for Content as the programme is automated. Whether the publisher's content is targeted at a small number of readers or to a broader audience, the system utilizes Google's powerful advertising network to serve targeted ads on publisher web pages from a broad pool of available AdWords™ advertisers - ranging from large global brands to small local businesses.

The program is free, and combines pay-per-click and pay-per-impression advertising. Publishers are paid when their visitors click on the ads. Advertisers can also bid to appear on a website on a cost per thousand impressions basis. AdSense for Content enables advertisers to utilize both text and image ads in a variety of sizes that can be adapted to different publisher sites and pages.

Applying to the AdSense for Content network is extremely easy. Any website publisher can log on to any of Google's local websites like www.google.com.eg , www.google.com.sa , www.google.com.ae or www.google.co.ma or any other local website, and complete the simple application process. Once approved, publishers simply login to their account and copy and paste a block of HTML into their webpage(s). Targeted ads will then start showing on their site within 72 hours. The look and feel of the ads on their websites can be easily modified with the help of a wide range of ad units and colours.

AdSense for Content is part of Google AdSense programme, which also includes the AdSense for Search product. The AdSense program is a leading online advertising solution that brings the power of Google technology to publishers globally. Once application gets a publisher approved for both AdSense for Content and AdSense for Search - the publisher can decide to use any combination of these products on their sites and pages to generate revenue.

'Google AdSense improves the overall web user experience by bringing relevant, unobtrusive, text ads to web pages rather than disruptive, unrelated ads such as pop-ups and animations,'

said Yonca Brunini, Marketing Director for Emerging Markets at Google EMEA. 'Arab world has a vibrant publisher community and we are excited to launch AdSense for Content there to empower all publishers with an easy to use and effective monetisation solution.'
