Western Union announces a strategic relationship with Jordan Islamic Bank

Western Union, a leading provider of global money transfer services, today announced a strategic relationship with Jordan Islamic Bank to provide Western Union branded money transfer services to its valued customers in the Kingdom.

Jordan Islamic Bank has signed an Agent representative agreement with Western Union which enables customers to send and receive money from its 53 conveniently located branches throughout the Kingdom. Jordan Islamic Bank's customer base will now benefit from Western Union's fast, reliable and convenient money transfer services that cover 200 countries and territories

Mr. Jean Claude Farah, Regional Vice President of Western Union for Middle East, Pakistan and Afghanistan said,

"With the addition of Jordan Islamic Bank to our extensive list of Agent representatives, we have made further progress towards providing convenient access to our money transfer services in Jordan. We warmly welcome our new Agent on board with the knowledge that this will be a winning journey together for both them and Western Union."


He further added: "The consistent expansion of our network of Agents across the globe, coupled with our excellence in service is an important factor in strengthening our leading position as a money transfer service provider. Being a customer-centric company Western Union continuously endeavours to increase convenience for those who want to use our services - expanding our Agent network is part of this effort. The cooperation with Jordan Islamic Bank, a well known leading bank in the Kingdom is an excellent decision."

Commenting on the signing of the agreement, Mr. Musa Shihadeh Vice Chairman & General Manager of Jordan Islamic Bank said: "By including Western Union services in our portfolio and offering these services through our branch network, we are providing valuable benefits to our customers by enabling them to quickly and conveniently transfer money to their loved ones across the globe. With this new addition, Western Union's network in the Kingdom now comprises 400 locations with services provided by Cairo Amman Bank, Jordan Commercial Bank, Kamal Exchange, The Housing Bank for Trade and Finance and Jordan Islamic Bank.
