MoH appoints DHCC-Harvard Medical International Consulting Team to revamp services at Al-Baraha Hospital

The UAE Ministry of Health recently announced that the Consulting Team at Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC), a member of Tatweer, has been tasked with revamping services at Al-Baraha Hospital in partnership with Harvard Medical International (HMI).

The Consulting Team will work according to the Ministry of Health's guidelines, initiating meticulous market research before overhauling the master and site plans for the Al-Baraha Hospital in Dubai.

Humaid Al-Qutami, UAE Minister for Health, said: 'Our new strategy (2008 - 2012) is focused on improving the quality of medical services. One of our main objectives is to upgrade the services at our hospitals and bring them on par with global standards. This is why we feel honoured to appoint DHCC - Harvard Medical International Consulting Team to revamp services at Al Baraha Hospital. We believe they can help us move towards a more rewarding public-private partnership for the ultimate benefit of the community in the UAE and the region.'

'The Consultancy Team will review ambulatory care and related facilities to ensure a more dynamic service, keeping in mind the healthcare needs, the expected footfall and competitors in the area.'

Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, CEO of DHCC, said: 'The DHCC/HMI Consulting Team will focus on providing strategic, clinical, educational and operational solutions to Al-Baraha Hospital to ensure a higher quality service - quality that is sustained in the region, and can include more healthcare providers at a later date.'

The Ministry of Health's objective in revamping facilities at the Al-Baraha Hospital is to create a more people-friendly environment for better healthcare service.

The Consulting Team will also develop a model for public-private partnership for the Al Baraha Hospital which could potentially be applied to the other MoH hospitals.
