The Gulfstream 550 full-flight simulator (FFS) has been successfully qualified to Level D by the European Joint Airworthiness Authority (JAA) and the American Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), in addition to the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
Gulfstream jet operators in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East region are being offered a comprehensive range of training programmes at ECFT for both their flight and maintenance crews.
The JAA and FAA have already approved the ECFT's training programmes for the Gulfstream IV and V, Hawker 800/800XP, Boeing Business Jet and Airbus Corporate Jet.
'Our new G550/450 training programme has been extremely well received,' said Jeff Roberts, CAE's Group President, Innovation and Civil Training & Services. 'We are proud to offer one of the most advanced G550/450 training programmes to address the current boom in production of business aircraft and to provide training in locations most convenient to our customers.'
The G550/450 training will include CAE Simfinity®, a suite of training devices which use the same high-fidelity simulation software found in CAE's full-flight simulators.
The CAE Simfinity® Virtual Simulator and CAE Simfinity® 3-Dimensional IPT both replicate the aircraft avionics suite using the latest Honeywell PC-based re-host of the Plane View graphical display and Flight Management System software.
The use of this innovative, PC-based technology enables operational training in a virtual Gulfstream 550/450 cockpit from the first day of training in the classroom.
