'SES will use our successful conference model, allowing senior-level IT decision makers from medium to large enterprises to interact directly with major international vendors and absorb information that will directly influence their IT planning and understanding,'
said Farouk Hemraj, co-founder at DISTREE Events. 'We had significant encouragement to add an end-user element to our events, but we wanted to ensure that we continued to provide a focused platform by not mixing the two audiences - the business channel and the end user community. SES does exactly that.'
DISTREE Events road tested the SES concept in 2006, inviting influential IT decision makers from the oil and gas sector in Russia and the CIS region to visit the DBC event in Moscow. This initiative was well received by both the end users attending the event as well as the vendors.
'By hosting the events back-to-back, vendors were able to get a better understanding of the needs of the market, not just from the business partners' point of view, but also from the end users' perspective,' said Sasha Sinson, Event Director, DBC-SES. 'It is important to keep the identity of the two events separate because the vendors' message to the channel is different from their message to the end user; but information from one can help to tailor the support structure for the other, whether this is related to technology, support or services.'
With security considerations now impacting across the entire corporate IT infrastructure, SES will cover the topics that matter most to senior-level IT executives shaping their company's future growth.
'Security is a major consideration in all aspects of IT infrastructure today and one of the areas that CIOs and IT decision makers within an organisation take very seriously,' continued Sinson. 'Whether it is storage or a technology as ubiquitous as printing, security is now a major differentiator.'
Like all conferences organised by DISTREE, SES is a highly exclusive, invitation-only event that will bring together more than 100 senior-level IT decision makers from medium and large organisations spanning all major verticals within the target markets. DBC-SES CIS covers 10 countries including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. DBC-SES MEA covers Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia, Kenya, Sudan, and Tanzania.
DBC-SES CIS and DBC-SES MEA will also incorporate new elements designed to increase the quality and vibrancy of dialogue and interaction at the event. Talk shows and panel discussions will create a valuable two-way exchange, firstly between vendors and business partners, and secondly between vendors and end-users during SES. This year's events are expected to see a significant rise in participation from vendors keen to interact with the influential audiences attending each section of the events.
