It offers 48bit input and output and has a resolution of 1600dpi with EPSON's Matrix CCD. High quality images are scanned at speed, with the aid of the inbuilt ASIC Hyper Processor, which ensures the EPSON Perfection 1650 can produce images up to 6 times faster than other manufacturers models.
The new scanner will produce over 281 trillion colours and more than 16,000 shades of grey. Ease of use is enhanced with EPSON's 4 QuickStart buttons, images can even be downloaded onto the web with the touch of a button, allowing users to easily utilise EPSON's new photosharing website, also launched today.
The Perfection 1650 is available in two versions, the standard model is ideal for general image and document scanning while the Perfection 1650 Photo includes an integrated photo transparency unit in the lid, suitable for scanning a full strip of film and is ideal for scanning negatives, slides and transparencies. Both configurations can be upgraded with an optional 4" x 5" transparency unit.
The popular EPSON Smart Panel software is bundled with both models and allows the start button to be customised to the users own specific scanning requirements. This includes a "Scan to Web" feature for users who want to store images on the web or download to EPSON's new photosharing website. Also bundled is ArcSoft Photo Impression 3 for image editing. The new Adobe Photoshop Elements replaces ArcSoft Photo Impression in the Perfection 1650 Photo.
