  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, July 31 - 2007 at 08:12

Abu Dhabi is phasing in low sulphur diesel in a bid to improve air quality and lower the risk of respiratory disease in the UAE, according to Gulf News. The first of three phases has been running since the start of July, where 500 parts per million diesel has replaced 2,500ppm diesel. The second phase, which is due to come in by 2010, will see that fuel replaced by 50ppm diesel. A final phase, due in 2012, will replace all diesel fuel used in vehicles and industry with 10ppm diesel.
