- PRESS RELEASE
ATV, Jordan's first independent terrestrial and satellite station, announced the joining of Amjad Abida to its News and Current Affair Department.
Abida started his career with the Kuwaiti based Siyasa newspaper, he then moved to al Aswaq. He also spent eight years at JTV where he worked as editor for political news and anchor for the economic bulletin. He has worked at Abu Dhabi TV and has spent the last 5 years in Aljazeera.
"I am extremely happy to be part of this team.
Abida commented, "The team is a highly qualified, talented team with many years of experience, this I believe will be instrumental in supporting a highly professional media scene in Jordan."
I will spare no effort in providing our viewers with good economic updates that cover global trends and events," he added.
ATV's set mission is to entertain, inform, and contribute to the development of a professional press culture in the Arab world. By focusing on local affairs as its competitive edge, it will be closer and more relevant to Jordanian viewers. ATV announced earlier this year that it will go public, making it the first satellite station in the Arab world to do so. ATV will commence its official broadcast on the 1st of August.
