Aramco to invite Manifa bids

Saudi Aramco is expected to invite bids in August for contracts worth an estimated $3bn for the development of its Manifa oilfield, AP reports. On completion, the $10bn Manifa project is expected to produce 900,000 bpd of oil, 120m cubic feet a day of gas and 50,000 bpd of condensate. It is due to come on stream by Mid-2011. About 30 companies had earlier submitted prequalification applications to Aramco for four main packages.
