As the Qiyada program's general partner, Acer in conjunction with AIESEC, the world largest student organization, offer current graduate students a chance to realize their potential and gain valuable international experience by placing them in multinational companies overseas. Acer also provides financial and material support to Qiyada students.

"Acer strongly supports education programs like Qiyada that empower students to be future leaders," said Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer Middle East. "We want to help students develop not only their business and leadership skills, but provide them with a window into the mechanics of the corporate world," added Murthy.

The first to benefit from Acer's contribution are Shareena Mubarak Obaid Muwaijaei, and Iman Al Rawahi, both graduates of Abu Dhabi Women's College.

Shareena completed an internship with Kucukcalik Textiles in Turkey, and Iman with Aicello Chemical Europe in Germany. Both graduates were interns for a period of two months.

"The Qiyada programme is a tool that can help UAE students prepare for the corporate world. The work experience gained over two months in Germany is invaluable, and AIESEC and Acer played a key role in making it happen," said Iman Al Rawahi.

"The practical knowledge gained in Turkey has given me great work experience. Qiyada, under the umbrella of Acer and AIESEC is highly beneficial to the development of UAE students," said Shareena Mubarak Obaid Muwaijaei.

Acer's involvement is not just limited to Qiyada alone. Since 2004, the IT vendor has facilitated five internships programs. In 2005, it also sponsored AIESEC's 'Youth Development Program'.

"Acer has provided a vital link to the AIESEC programs in the UAE. Our aim is to provide a global prospective to our fellow students, and Acer's contribution is of paramount importance to our work," said Stella Grancheva, President, AIESEC, in the UAE.

Acer has dedicated focus groups, helping to develop the education sector of the region. The IT vendor has existing deals to provide the Ministry of Educations of various regional countries with Acer products and support.

"Acer firmly believes that the progress of a nation depends on the development of its youth. As a responsible corporate citizen we aim to fully support AIESEC programs to help develop future business leaders," added Trivikram Jayacham, Human Resource Manager, Acer Computer M.E. Ltd.
