Jonathon Porritt joins A-list speakers at World Future Energy Summit (WFES)

Jonathon Porritt has joined a growing list of world-renown experts to debate the future of global energy policies and strategies at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) presented by Masdar, 21-23 January 2008 in Abu Dhabi.

A former director of Friends of the Earth and co-founder of the Forum for the Future, Jonathon Porritt was appointed by the Former Prime Minister Tony Blair as Chairman of the UK Sustainable Development Commission in July 2000.

A commission providing the UK Government with it's principal source of independent advice across the sustainable development agenda.

As an eminent writer, broadcaster and commentator on sustainable development, Jonathon Porritt will be speaking alongside government ministers and representatives from energy companies including:

Mohammad bin Dha'en Al Hamli, Minister of Energy, United Arab Emirates
Vivienne Cox, Group Executive Vice President, Gas & Power, BP
Graeme Sweeney, Executive Vice President, Shell International Renewables

The global summit will see a leadership coming together to discuss key issues surrounding sustainable and alternative energy solutions and technologies with further presentations yet to be announced including heads of state, heads of companies and others making the big sustainable energy solution decisions.
