Cleveland Clinic physicians to present at inaugural spine conference in Egypt

Cleveland-Four Cleveland Clinic physicians will travel to Cairo, Egypt, to participate in Egypt Spine 2007, an international education conference being held from Aug. 3-9.
Neurosurgeons and orthopedic surgeons from around the world will discuss the decision-making process and fundamentals of spine surgery with an emphasis on biomechanical considerations.
"Conferences like Egypt Spine further Cleveland Clinic's global outreach and give us the chance to foster a connection with the medical community of Egypt," said Bill Ruschhaupt, M.D., Chairman, Cleveland Clinic, Global Patient Services. "Our participating physicians are looking forward to a great event and having the opportunity to share best practices with surgeons internationally."
Cleveland Clinic's presenting physicians include Edward C. Benzel, M.D., Chairman, Center for Spine Health and President, World Spine Society; Richard Schlenk, M.D., Staff, Center for Spine Health; Isador Lieberman, M.D., Staff, Center for Spine Health; and Douglas Orr, M.D., Staff, Center for Spine Health and Orthopaedic Surgery.
Cleveland Clinic's Global Patient Services also will have an informational booth at the inaugural conference's exhibition to provide information about its latest medical and surgical advancements, raising awareness and fostering relationships amongst peers in the medical community.
Cleveland Clinic and Cairo University are sponsoring the inaugural conference and plan to hold the event on a biannual basis.
