Demand for large-size and widescreen monitors is growing in the Middle East, as both home users and businesses look for high quality displays that make the most of rich media content and create a productive digital working environment. ViewSonic's GITEX stand will feature desktop displays in sizes up to 28" and widescreen monitors that give the user more space to work or to play.

GITEX will also see the launch of ViewSonic's new VX55 series of high performance displays, which include features such as built-in web cam, integrated stereo speakers and subwoofer, super-fast 5ms response times, advanced ergonomics and industrial design, and a wide range of multi-media connectivity options including ViewDock iPod docking station.

"The Middle East region is one of the most dynamic display markets for ViewSonic. In terms of the LCD marketplace, the Middle East region has projected growth for 2007 of more than 30%, which offers one of the highest global LCD market opportunities. Therefore, GITEX plays an important role in promoting our solutions to visitors from across the region to build visibility and mindshare for the ViewSonic brand,"

said Aaron Fright, Regional Director, ViewSonic Middle East & Africa.

ViewSonic's market share grew at more than three times the market rate in the Middle East in 2006, and was the second-fastest growing branded desktop display vendor in the region. Total shipments of ViewSonic monitors grew by 28.6% during 2006 in a total display market that grew only by 9.1%, according to analyst company BNA.

"This year will be the eighth consecutive year that ViewSonic has had a dedicated presence at GITEX, and the show is an ideal opportunity for us to show our leadership in the prevailing trend for 'big and wide' display solutions.' Whether the need is for the latest corporate monitor to prevent eye strain or a dynamic new home cinema system, GITEX enables both new and existing ViewSonic customers and partners to see live demonstrations of our award-winning technology up close and personal," Fright added.
