The show focuses primarily on passive and active fire protection, fire fighting and rescue equipment.

With more than 50% of space already booked for Fire & Rescue Middle East, and with a notable growth rate of bookings in 2008 by over 20% when weighed against July 2007, the exhibition is anticipated to be an astounding success. Fire & Rescue Middle East covers 8000 sqm - a 33% year-on-year increase in space.

At this stage when Middle East is witnessing path-breaking upsurge in construction, huge investments are being made to raise awareness on controlling fire related hazards. Official and government bodies responsible for 'policing' construction activities have stated passing of law, which makes it mandatory for all buildings under construction to install fire proofing and fire rescue systems.

Dubai Municipality is to build four civil defence centres at a cost of $13.3 million to enhance Dubai Civil Defence Department's fire-fighting capabilities. The project has already started and the centres are expected to be ready by end of April next year. Dubai Civil Defence has carried out constant support activities for Intersec Middle East and will actively participate in the 2008 show too.

The 2007 edition of Fire & Rescue Middle East attracted 140 exhibitors for fire fighting and fire prevention. The companies exhibiting benefited from the highly targeted visitor audience, which included civil defence forces, fire specialists and fire men, security and safety managers, hospitals, municipalities and construction companies.

Independent visitor research shows over 6,000 key trade visitors were interested especially in fire safety and fire fighting equipment at Intersec Middle East in 2007.

Speaking in response to Intersec Middle East in 2007, Radwan Halabi of NAFFCO, the largest fire fighting equipment manufacturing company in the Middle East said that, "We highly appreciate the huge efforts expended by the organisers to bring Intersec Middle East to this huge level of infrastructure. We confirm our participation in Fire & Rescue Middle East at Intersec for 2008 too."

Ines Gruslinger, the show manager of Intersec Middle east, says that,

"Middle East needs latest fire & rescue systems to keep in line with its spectacular construction activities and developments. Intersec provides an unrivalled platform for fire solution providers to raise their business profile amongst governments, civil defence forces, construction industry, industrial developments, commercial businesses, ports, airports and security professionals."

Intersec Middle East will also hold a dedicated conference for fire and rescue. International and regional authorities will be outlining global perspectives on pivotal issues, addressing challenges and opportunities facing fire professionals in the Middle East.

Intersec Middle East will host outside demonstrations in conjunction with Dubai Civil Defence, as part of the Fire & Rescue Middle East's arresting portfolio. Focus will be on high rise rescue and fire fighting skills.
