Istithmar offer topped by Fast

Japan's Fast Retailing Company has once again trumped Istithmar's offer for the Jones Apparel Group's Barneys New York retail chain, reported Gulf News. Istithmar yesterday, Sunday, matched Fast's recent $900m bid which in itself had topped Istithmar's initial $825m offer back in June. But Fast has now raised its bid to $950m and Istithmar has one day in which to make another counter offer.
