These included the key categories of strategy, economics, banks & financial institutions, real estate, telecommunications and industrials. In total nearly 200 institutional and high net worth investors voted in the poll from Europe, the Middle East and Asia. The EFG-Hermes research team not only beat those from other regional investment banks but also those of the major international houses proving that local knowledge and experience are key competitive advantages that local and regional institutions enjoy over their international competitors.
'Research is fundamental to EFG-Hermes' regional success, and is today recognized as the highest quality analysis on Middle East and North African (MENA) markets,' explained Philip Khoury, Head of research, EFG-Hermes. 'Success such as this in such an in-depth survey is confirmation of our commitment to provide our clients and the industry with quality and insightful research products that are increasingly needed in what is an evolving and growing market. Investment in talent and the retention and recruitment of staff has driven the development of a cohesive and high-performing team of analysts.'
'The fast pace of growth, innovation and integration into the global markets of the Middle East makes the region one of the most exciting areas of the international capital markets' said Euromoney Magazine CEO Simon Brady. 'The increasing relevance of the Middle East equity markets to both local and international investors motivated us to conduct the poll and I hope that investors find it useful as a way of differentiating between investment banks and brokers as the industry becomes ever more crowded by new entrants' Brady further added.
