The National Bank of Abu Dhabi, reputably known as the UAE's number one bank, has donated AED 50,000 to the Al Dheeyah Rehabilitation Centre in line with their Strategic Vision and in line with the goals of their established Corporate Social Responsibility policy.

"NBAD has always been distinguished by a high level of commitment to the community, the environment and the welfare of all UAE citizens," said Eman Caldwell, Assistant Manager Business Excellence.

"The Bank is particularly sensitive to the current situation of the needy and less fortunate within the UAE and we have enhanced our focus to become truly the people's bank, by not only looking at financial issues, but at issues that affect the very foundation of this great nation and we consider ourselves leaders and role models in every aspect of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility within the UAE."

Al Dheeyah Rehabilitation Centre is a local not-for-profit rehabilitation and therapeutic center and charitable organization that offers assessment, rehabilitation, general and aqua physio-therapy care and maximizes the development of children with special needs and physical disabilities. The center, which opened in 2004, does not charge any fee for their services. Presently, over 100 children benefit from the activities provided by the center, while countless volunteers and professionals often lend their time and support to this very worthy organization. Children with orthopedic disabilities as well as more severe cases gain benefit from this center where trained therapists, medical experts, and other personnel assist in making the best of their abilities. The organization has created an excellent and supportive environment for children, and helps them on their journey to independence and success as active contributing members of society.

"Both NBAD and our employees are actively interested in the nation's well-being and this goes a long way in making a meaningful and mutually beneficial relationship with the UAE community" said Eman. The centre has sustained itself until recently on the community and one off donations, however, after hearing about the centers recent unforeseen financial complications which put them at risk of closing down, we felt it necessary to bring awareness to this worthy cause and encourage all individuals and UAE organizations to reach out and support such worthy community causes," added Eman.
