The Skytrax World Airline Awards 2007, results of which were announced a few days ago, have conferred Gulf Air first place for Onboard Catering excellence in First Class.
'The Gulf Air 'Sky Chefs' have clearly been serving up some mouthwatering meals in their First Class cabin, as the airline is a repeat winner of the prestigious Best First Class catering award,' the World Airline Awards citation said.
The airline was also the only carrier from the Middle East to be ranked in the top five in the Business Class catering category.
The awards are regarded as the most authentic and the most prestigious recognition of outstanding quality excellence for product and customer service delivery across world airline industry, as the awards are voted by the travelling public.
'Our Sky Chefs are surely a celebration of food in-flight and winning this award for the fifth time in a row bears testimony to our on board catering excellence,' says Gulf Air Acting President and Chief Executive Björn Näf.
'We thank and salute the traveling public for their confidence in our product and service and we will strive to continue this legacy of improvement to service standards whilst upholding our guest's support of Gulf Air's inflight products,'
The Sky Trax awards are the result of the most comprehensive analysis of product and service standards provided by airlines across the globe and have become a bench mark for the aviation industry.
The survey measures over 35 different aspects of passenger satisfaction for an airline's product and service standards - evaluating the 'typical' travel experience.
'We very proud of our achievement and we thank our dedicated Chefs and all our inflight crews for their hard work and personal commitment in helping us win again this year. I can assure our customers that we will continue to do all we can to further increase customer satisfaction across all aspects of our on board service.' says Executive Vice President Marketing and Sales Lee Shave.
'We challenge ourselves to do everything we can to maintain and enhance the goodwill we have to earn everyday from our passengers.' Mr. Shave adds.
