Emaar EC signs gas turbine deal

Emaar The Economic City has signed a deal with Arabian Bemco to install an open cycle gas turbine power plant at the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). It will set up six gas turbine plants to meet the needs of the development's first phase - the first two going live within 15 months, with the others following shortly thereafter. They will meet the power requirements of the project, the largest in the private sector in the region, until 2012.
