ABN AMRO's e-Banking is the most safe, smart and easy service available in the country whereby ABN AMRO customers can now safely access and manage their banking and depository accounts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, at their convenience.

Commenting on the launch of e-Banking, Mr. Burhan Khan, Head of Consumer Banking, ABN AMRO UAE, said:

"It is our endeavour to provide our customers with benefits that integrate ABN AMRO into their chosen lifestyle. We are happy to announce the launch of the e-Banking service, which is an extension of our current delivery channels such as branches, customer service centres and phone banking."

He added: "All of our credit card, Van Gogh Preferred Banking (VGPB) and bank account clients can avail this facility and access their accounts online. Most people in the UAE find it difficult to physically get to the bank within working hours; ABN AMRO understands the value of their time and busy lifestyles. With internet-banking, we now offer banking right in to the cosy environs of their living rooms through an exceptionally secure system."

The safety levels of the system can be gauged from the fact that ABN AMRO's e-Banking comes along with cutting-edge two factor authentication and a password that dynamically changes every 60 seconds.

In simple words clients will have to enter two passwords to access e-Banking. One of the passwords - the secure ID - will be displayed on the "Electronic Security Token". This secure ID dynamically changes every 60 seconds. Additionally after certain number of unsuccessful attempts to log into e-Banking, the user ID will get disabled to prevent unauthorized access.

Furthermore keeping the safety of customer in mind, if a customer has logged into e-Banking and not used the application, after certain duration of inactivity, the system automatically logs the person out of e-Banking.

"The launch of ABN AMRO e-Banking is a significant reflection of our commitment to be customer-centric at all levels and be innovative in our services. ABN AMRO has always been at the forefront in pioneering new products including the first Smart chip card, the first women's card and the first NRI card, among others," Mr. Khan said.

He said e-banking can be accessed by customers who have ABN AMRO credit cards, loans and accounts and will be a total relationship tool which will reinforce the bank's leadership in the technology sphere.

ABN AMRO's e-Banking provides a host of critical services such as checking account balances and transactions, utility bills payment, transferring - self as well as third party funds transfer if the beneficiary holds an account with ABN AMRO in the UAE, request for cheque books, activate ATM / debit card, request for statement by fax, opt for email and short messaging service (SMS) alerts.
