President/CEO Samer Majali said that this figure represents a record number in the airline's history, as it is the highest achieved in one month since its establishment 44 years ago. He pointed out that the seat factor rose by 3.5 points in July this year, reaching 80.4%, against 76.9% during the corresponding period last year. Flying hours also increased by 11%, from 6,884 in July last year to 7,612 in July this year.

In July 2007, the airline operated 2,362 departures, a 9% rise over the same month in 2006 when RJ operated 2,173 departures. Moreover, aircraft utilization increased from 10.6 hours per day to 11.2 hours per day for the month compared, representing a 6% increase. The on-time performance rose from 72% to 85.5%, with an increase of 19%, a high record even internationally.

Majali attributed the achievements to the airline's improved air and ground services, particularly since the introduction of the modern, newly manufactured aircraft, and their state-of-the-art features aboard, in addition to RJ's membership in the oneworld airline alliance. He also commented that RJ will continue modernizing its fleet and route network.

He said that August is slated to witness a record number of passengers to the company's 54 destinations around the world.
