The event was organized by AlSalam for Int'l Conferences and Exhibitions, and held at Four Seasons Damascus, 30th of July 2007.
The official sponsors were: Syrian Computer Society (SCS), Union of Arab ICT Associations (IJMA3) and Arab Regional ISPs & DSPs Association (ARISPA).
The attendance reached 700 persons from administrative and executive managers, specialist all interested in information, communication and cyber security. All delegates were representing Ministries, directorates, governmental institutions, Banks, Financial institutions, communication and cyber companies, system designers, IT training centers, Universities, Insurance companies, commercial and industrial private companies.
The forum uder the patronage of Dr. Amr Salem, the Syrian Minister of Communications and Technology, the Minister welcomed the attendees and wished success to the forum, in his welcoming speech.
The Minister mentioned the importance of the 3rd ICT Security Forum in shedding light on new international information security from servicing, technical, administrative, organizing and legal sides. The forum is considered an important way to generalize the realization of the importance of this aspect to all information strategies, to local institution and companies.
Mr. Maher Abdul Hak the General Manager of AlSalam for Int'l Conferences mentioned in his welcoming speech said that the ICT Security Forum was considered an important event in supporting information and communication technology security in governmental, financial and commercial sectors. Mr. Abdul Hak hoped that the forum would raise the awareness of the IT users and help find the right solutions to the difficulties and challenges by introducing to the pioneers international expertise. He also hoped that the forum would encourage participation on more development to technical systems of financial and governmental sectors which both will participate in developing the local economy. Mr. Abdul Hak considered the forum as an opportunity to meet with the experts, specialist, interested and decision maker in ICT security to exchange the expertise and information.
After the welcoming speeches, the Minister opened the association specialist exhibition with participants in many of local and international companies in showing their updated techniques, products and programs in Information Communication Technology, Security, Internet Services providers, and telecommunications sector.

20 presentations have been presented at the forum, by specialist and expert from the greatest international companies at the sector. The last session had closed with the recommendation of ministry of Communications and Technology.
3rd ICT Security Forum in Syria starts
With participation of Arab and international ICT security experts, the activities of ICT Security Forum opened in Syria.
