Reuters addresses 'key issue for Middle East financial organizations'
- Bahrain: Wednesday, November 07 - 2001 at 11:37
- PRESS RELEASE
Speaking at the 2001 World Islamic Banking Conference in Bahrain, Ian Evans, Business Development Manager, will deal with the issue of how organisations can most effectively manage their information.
"The bottom line has never been more important," he says. "And managing information effectively has a very direct influence on how healthy that bottom line looks."
Evans will also talk about the increasing demand for Islamic based banking products. Reuters is currently working on a number of initiatives in this area and the company expects to make significant announcements over the coming months.
"Most companies have all the information they need but it is not being managed effectively. So there is little wonder that companies such as Reuters which provide organizations with the solutions to help them achieve this goal are being welcomed warmly by CIOs, and treasury managers throughout the region.," says Evans.
Issam Makki, Marketing Manager Reuters comments, "Islamic banking and finance has been one of the fastest growing areas in banking over the past few years. Reuters being the leading provider of financial information and solutions worldwide is best positioned to play a key role in this emerging and fast developing domain. Reuters financial information content, news, applications, and solutions as well as its existing network with the key financial institutions around the world, will ensure that Reuters will play a pivotal role in the development and success of this local financial information solutions market. Reuters local presence in the Gulf, the hub of the Islamic world and Islamic banking, positions us in the heart of this market and enables us to cope rapidly with its dynamic and fast evolving requirements."
The conference will take place at the Gulf International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Bahrain on 10th-11th November 2001, attracting delegates from across the Gulf in the financial and IT sectors and addressing issues surrounding the changing world of financial services. The exhibition running parallel to the two-day conference will feature financial and information technology providers specialising in the development of services and products for the banking and IT sector. Reuters will be the sole IT solutions provider speaking at the event.
