The device is a flat-panel frame that displays photographs as slide shows, movie clips, and other information you download off your digital camera, as if it were a mini TV.
Unlike other digital frames on the market at this point, the Kodak digital frame offers Kodak picture clarity with its patent Kodak color science chip and its highly innovative Kodak Light Management technology brings consumers the widest viewing angles from all parts of the room.
Speaking on the launch for the digital frame, Arif Khan, Area Manager Kodak (Near East) Inc said, 'The Kodak digital frame was built with the consumer in mind. Every person has a story to tell - it's about a summer vacation, daughter's birthday bash or even a graduation. Each of these stories demand to shared and cherished - but they deserve more than just a single pic or an image stored in the hard drive. By offering our consumers 128MB of streaming combined with our patented Light Management technology and color science chip, topped off with sleek design finish, we offer consumers a brilliant start to their story. You can even play video files with audio and music! . It's like a personal storyboard you upload easily to share with family and friends.'
Apart from having the widest range of screen sizes available in the market ranging from 7 inch to 10 inch, the Kodak digital frames also offers a single touch print option allowing users to print right off the frame bypassing the need to download off the computer. Additionally Kodak will release frame accessories to match different décor schemes or age preferences
'It's a breakthrough on many fronts - and makes a perfect gift from a close friend or family member back home' added Khan. The Kodak digital frame also comes packed with distinctive features including MP3 speakers such that the streaming may be timed to music for different occasions and even includes Kodak's patented technology including PictBridge which makes the digital frames highly camera-friendly and highly functional, both at home or in the office.
The frames are launched exclusively at Gitex and available both at Kodak Stand in Gitex shopper and leading electronic stores.
