- PRESS RELEASE
Bayan Holding Company, which is owned by the Gulf Finance House and the Kuwaiti Company for Finance and Investment, launched the 'Birr and Ihsan' (Charity and Good Works) campaign via its Royal Village and Jordan Gate projects by donating USD150,000.
The donation aims to support the 'Birr and Ihsan' (Charity and Good Works) campaign which is run by the Jordanian Fund for Human Development under the direction of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Talal, head of the board of trustees of the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development, and Head of the Higher Committee for the 'Birr and Ihsan' (Charity and Good Works) Campaign. Her Highness works hard to assign special importance to the process of investing in our human resources which are the nation's most valuable resource and the resource most able to help put Jordan on the right track to achieve the country's development goals.
Dr. Haider Majali, a member of the board of directors of the Royal Village and Jordan Gate, handed the donation to Her Royal Highness Princess Basma Bint Talal, in lieu of Mr. Issam Jannahi, head of the board of directors of Gulf Finance House. His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Annab, Deputy Mayor of the Greater Amman Municipality, also attended the event.
Dr. Haider Majali said, 'The initiative we have taken is in line with our corporate, social responsibility and consolidates the concept of a 'national company', whereby this step is one of the most important steps to developing strategic thinking that takes into account running a commercial business in parallel with working to help the community'. He added, 'It is our duty to push forward the wheel of social development. The fruits of this will be realized only when equal opportunities are created and the standard of living is improved for citizens ensuring a life of dignity for them'.
Dr. Haider Majali also expressed how happy the Royal Village (a subsidiary of Bayan Holding) is to be working with the Jordanian Hashemite Fund as it is one of the most important national programs working to improve the social and environmental conditions for the least privileged communities in Jordan.
Bayan Holding is currently developing and overseeing the Royal Village project which is one of the main elements of the huge Royal Cities Project which is valued at $1.25 billion. It also includes the Jordan Gate and Royal Spa projects. The Royal Village development aims to provide a magnificent and secure living environment that will attract people who want to enjoy a unique, luxurious and private lifestyle.
It is worth pointing out that the 'Birr and Ihsan' (Charity and Good Works) campaign was launched in 1991 and was able to reach many beneficiaries offering them financial and in kind support in addition to academic scholarships. It was also able to build a wide network of relationships to create a better life for beneficiaries by focusing on productive, regenerative projects for individuals to achieve continuous development. It also targeted the specific needs of young people and people with special needs.
