Helmut Meckelburg appoints Rabih Melhem as Director of Food and Beverage for TAJ Palace Hotel Dubai

Mr. Helmut Meckleburg, General Manager Taj Palace Hotel Dubai has appointed Rabih Melhem as the new Director of Food & Beverage.

Rabih comes with 15 years of international experience. His professional assignments have enabled him to gain experience in various parts of the world which includes U.SA. & Middle East mainly.

Before joining Taj Palace hotel, Rabih held Director of F&B portfolio with The Westin San Diego Hotel in California. He started his career with Hyatt Regency Monterey, California in 1993 as the Banquet & Convention Service Supervisor, leaving Hyatt hotels after 8 years as an Assistant Director of F&B.

Highly self motivated and ambitious, Rabih opted for an international experience with Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers Abu Dhabi in 2000. He joined them as Assistant Food and Beverage manager (opening of the new extension). After having successful stint of 2 years in Abu Dhabi, he was promoted to Al Ain Rotana Hotel as the Food and Beverage manager. With his extensive experience in culinary, F&B and operations he was then chosen to be part of the pre opening team with Al Murooj Rotana Hotel & Suites.

He earned a double degree in Hospitality Management and Business Accounting from San Jose State University in California. 'Hospitality is my passion and numbers are my expertise' remarks Rabih and shows his eagerness to put his academic and professional skills into the operations at Taj Palace.

'I'm very pleased to join The Taj Group at such an exciting time,' says Rabih. 'It's not often that you get an opportunity to join such a well established company and be responsible for the critical planning of food and beverage operations for a property - as well as to work with such fine existing restaurants. I am really looking forward to working with the team and the owners to deliver dining experiences that exceed our guests' expectations,' added Rabih.
