Habis Group and its EIZO distributors GM Habis, IDN and LayoutME, have achieved an outstanding sales growth in EIZO products for the year 2006 that was revealed among all other worldwide distributors. Habis Group and its distributors cover the territory of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Dubai, and the lower Gulf including Saudi Arabia.
Eizo Nanao Corporation pushes the limits of technology to create visual systems of the utmost quality. EIZO distributors meet once a year to vote for the best worldwide distributor in different categories for the past 12 months. The meeting was held from 9 till 11 July 2007 at Hotel Fairmont Monte Carlo in Monaco.
The Award is a painting representing a musical Japanese instrument, the 'Biwa'. This instrument is derived from the ud (or oud) from the Middle East and is one of the oldest instruments. Originally the ud had 4 strings. It was known in Europe as the 'lute' and in China as the 'Pipa'. Later it traveled to Japan and was named 'Biwa'. The 'Biwa' reached Japan from China during the Nara Period, and five instruments from that time are kept in the national treasure house of Japan.
Given the historical link between the Japanese 'Biwa' and the Middle East, EIZO felt this is the most appropriate manner in which to show its sincerest appreciation to Habis Group for its outstanding growth in year 2006.
